The United Arab Emirates has affirmed its continued support to achieve security and stability in Libya.
This was reiterated during a meeting between Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of UAE’s Federal National Council, and Libyan Parliament Speaker Aguila Saleh, and his accompanying delegation on Wednesday.
Libyan Parliament spokesman Abdullah Blehaq said that Ghobash met with Saleh in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi, and they discussed bilateral relations and joint cooperation between the two countries.
According to Blehaq, Saleh affirmed “the depth of historical relations between the UAE and Libya,” and he valued the UAE’s unlimited support and unwavering stance in backing the Libyan people and legitimate authorities.
Saleh addressed the situation in Libya and the Geneva talks, sponsored by the United Nations.
Ghobash, for his part, reiterated the UAE’s commitment to supporting security and stability in Libya.
After the meeting, Saleh and his accompanying delegation toured the UAE Federal National Council headquarters accompanied by Ghobash.
